I have been an occupational therapist for over 20 years, working with all ages and populations to help people find and express their most authentic selves. With a B.A. in Occupational Therapy and a certificate in Sexuality OT, I am also a certified Therapeutic Art Coach. I have an M.A. in Education and have worked in the field of education for many years.
Having gone through the growth work that I facilitate in others I know the hero’s journey of transformation personally, therefore I can empathize with many of your struggles. It can be scary, confusing, and also freeing, exciting, and full of wonder.
I am a deep listener and create a safe space for you to step into with your most sacred voice, holding your feelings, desires, understandings, and wounds in a tender and positive space. I do the affirming of you as you do the exploring and honouring of self.
What I do:
I give you permission to say anything you wish in our sessions. I deeply listen and provide any feedback about any topic you wish. I let you know that what you feel and think is of great value. I offer education and information about intimacy and sexuality. I offer instruction about positioning, tools, equipment, how to communicate effectively with your partner, and how to stay healthy and safe while engaging in intimacy and sexuality. I teach and suggest activities relative to intimacy, sexuality, therapeutic creative arts, and grief resolution. Please see individual pages for each.
I do shake hands. I do share hugs if appropriate and requested by the client.
What I do not do:
I do not engage with clients in an erotic or sexual way. I do not touch clients except when necessary and requested for purposes of positioning or use of adaptive equipment. I am not a surrogate partner.
The boundaries I hold for you and for me are to keep us both safe and so that you are comfortable to disclose anything you need. You are free to explore feelings and thoughts with me. As you are in a new and vulnerable adventure, you will always be in charge and honored. It gives you freedom to journey into yourself in a deep way.
